On 21 August 2019, the Swedish Tax Agency released a Newsletter summarizing the latest Automatic Exchange of Information (“AEOI”) events in Sweden.
The newsletter, which is only available in Swedish, reminds Financial Institutions of the following:
- any corrections must be submitted by 30 August 2019;
- corrections sent on the last day will not be remedied if they contain quality deficiencies;
- new XML schemas, updated by the OECD, will be used for the information exchanges that take place after December 2020; and,
- 2019 CRS data, which needs to be submitted by 15 May 2020, must be submitted in the current XML version. Data for 2020, i.e. those to be filed by 15 May 2021, must be filed in the new XML version.
In addition, due to the data leak within the Bulgarian Tax Authority, the Swedish Tax Agency has ceased its Automatic Exchange of Information with Bulgaria.
