The Federal Ministry of Finance (MoF) has provided the Finance Committee of the Bundestag several formulation aids for its ongoing consultations on the Finance Bill 2022.
On 10 November 2022, the Bundestag passed the bill introduced by the ruling Coalition "to compensate for inflation through a fair income tax rate and to adjust other tax regulations" (Inflation Compensation Act.)
In its plenary session on 28 October 2022, the Bundesrat gave the green light for the payment of an energy price flat rate sum to recipients of old age and other pensions by approving the corresponding bill from the Bundestag, which had had its second reading on 20 October 2022. Also approved was the upper limit for employment income subject to social security contributions.
In its parliamentary session of today the Bundestag has approved certain measures towards reducing gas costs for consumers and measures to address general cost increases (inflationary costs).
