One more time for old time’s sake: EBA publishes stress test methodology for 2023

A closer look at the 2023 methdology.

On July 21st, the EBA published its revised stress test methodology for the 2023 EU banking stress test. Following a consultation paper on the future of the supervisory stress test published in 2020 and after the hiatus enforced by the COVID crisis, it had been expected that the new methodology would be a big step towards a complete overhaul of the requirements. However, EBA now decided on a step-by-step approach with the big steps still to come in the future. Having said that, it is of course still worth to have a look at the 2023 methodology in a bit more detail.
